Deleting & Recovering Apps

Deleting an app

Right-click any app in the sidebar and choose Delete, or use the Delete App button in the app's top nav or in its Settings → Apps detail panel. Confirm once, and the app disappears from your sidebar immediately.

Nothing is destroyed right away. Shelf keeps the app and everything in it — for 90 days — in case you change your mind.

Changing your mind in the next 10 seconds

Right after you delete, a small banner shows up at the bottom of the screen:

“Deleted “Habit Tracker” · Undo”

Click Undo and the app comes right back, exactly as it was — nothing lost, nothing re-typed.

Changing your mind later

Missed the 10-second window? No problem.

The app comes back with all its data exactly as you left it.

The 90-day window

Shelf keeps a deleted app's data (the app itself and everything you saved in it) for 90 days. After that, it's removed permanently — there's no recovering it past that point, so if you're not sure, it costs nothing to leave it in Recently Deleted until you decide.

If you're signed in and syncing (Personal plan)

Delete and restore both work across every device you're signed into — delete a budgeting app on your laptop, and it disappears from your phone too the next time Shelf syncs there. Restore it on either device, and it comes back everywhere.

If you're on the free plan

Everything above works exactly the same — delete, undo, Recently Deleted, 90-day window — it just stays on this one device, since free apps aren't synced to other devices.

FAQ

I deleted something by accident and it's been more than 10 seconds — am I too late?
No. Settings → Apps → Recently Deleted keeps it for 90 days.

Does deleting an app also delete it from the marketplace if I published it?
No — deleting your local copy doesn't touch a marketplace listing. That's managed separately from Settings → Apps.

What exactly gets deleted after 90 days?
The app itself and anything it saved — permanently, with no further recovery.
