Creator Agreement

Version 1 · Effective 2026-05-26

This Creator Agreement governs publishing on the Shelf Marketplace. You accept it once when you become a creator, and re-accept it when the version number changes. Acceptance is recorded against your Shelf account.

  1. IP ownership

You retain all copyright in the bundle HTML, icon, screenshots, and metadata you publish. Shelf claims no ownership of your work.

  2. Licence to Shelf

You grant Shelf a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, distribute, display, and demonstrate your bundle on the marketplace and in marketing materials for the duration the bundle is live.

  3. Originality and clearance

You warrant that the bundle does not infringe third-party intellectual property, does not contain unlicensed assets, and does not embed or fetch malicious code.

  4. Security review

Shelf may run automated and human review on every submission. Shelf may reject submissions, require fixes, and is not obligated to explain rejections beyond the violation code surfaced in the portal.

  5. Creator Fee

Selling paid bundles requires an active Creator Fee subscription of USD 20 per year, recurring, separate from any Shelf platform plan. If the fee lapses, your paid listings are hidden until renewal; buyers retain access to bundles they already own. Publishing free bundles does not require this fee.

  6. Commission

Shelf retains a platform fee on every paid sale — base 20%, applied at the creator's agreed rate. The remainder is paid to you via Stripe Connect. Stripe's own processing fees come out of the creator share (net, not gross). Any increase to your agreed rate requires 30 days' notice.

  7. Takedown rights

Shelf may remove any bundle that violates policy, law, or platform rules without compensation to the creator. Consumer purchases are non-refundable; the only money reversals are chargebacks or policy-takedown refunds, which come out of pending creator revenue or future revenue if the balance is insufficient.

  8. Ban for repeat violations

Three confirmed policy violations within 12 months results in a permanent account ban. Banned creators lose access to publishing and all live bundles are unpublished. Pending payouts follow Stripe's standard schedule; future earnings are blocked.

  9. Tax responsibility

You are solely responsible for income tax, VAT/GST registration, and reporting on your earnings. Shelf reports payout volume to Stripe; Stripe handles 1099 or equivalent issuance per its standard process.

  10. Public profile

Your username, display name, bio, links, and avatar are public — shown on your creator page and on every published bundle. You own this content, are responsible for the rights to any uploaded avatar, and grant Shelf a licence to display it in connection with the marketplace. Shelf may reclaim usernames that infringe trademarks, impersonate others, or are abusive.

  11. Account deletion and retention

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile. Deletion removes your public profile, avatar, cloud-synced apps, and published bundles, and frees your username. Financial records (payment, payout, purchase) are retained for up to 7 years after deletion for tax and accounting purposes, then deleted — see the Privacy Policy.

  12. Indemnity

You indemnify Shelf against claims arising from your bundle, including IP infringement, defamation, and malicious behaviour.

  13. Term and termination

Either party may terminate the creator relationship with 30 days' notice. On termination by the creator, existing live bundles remain available to consumers who already purchased them; no new sales occur after the termination effective date.
